Rose Garden Dedication Locations

Looking for help finding your dedication? Follow the steps below to find your rose. Please remember that we are in the PRELIMINARY STAGES of identifying the rose dedications. We appreciate your patience as we put the recognition in place.

Your Rose Dedication includes:
• Thank you card acknowledging your dedication
• A rose with the name of your loved one, honoree or occasion dedicated on a sign in the Rose Garden
• A personal dedication posted on the Rose Garden’s website.

Please note: The location sign for the Rose Garden dedications has not yet been commissioned due to the short amount of time that has elapsed since the planting of the garden in April. This sign will be a large area sign, not something individual to each plant. Currently, we have no plans to do plaques or signs in front of each rose bush due to the risk of vandalism in a public park where plaques could be vandalized with graffiti, mixed up in location by pranksters or even stolen etc.

As a courtesy, we are piloting individual tags on dedicated rose bushes to acknowledge the success of the project and recognize the dedications made thus far. These tags may be hard to see depending on the size and density of the rose bush. Use the following steps to locate your rose:

1. Understand the quadrant system. For ease in planting and plotting the garden, the site was divided into four sections, labeled by numbered quadrants.location_decoder

Quadrant 1 - the northeast corner
Quadrant 2 - the southeast corner
Quadrant 3 - the southwest corner
Quadrant 4 - the northwest corner

Hint: Think of the area like a clock --- where 12 noon is the WWI Memorial. The quadrants are labeled clockwise around the circle. Click on the map to enlarge.

2. Understand the row labels. There are two rows of roses in each quadrant, the inner row and the outer row. The inner row is closest to the fountain. The outer row is closest to the arborvitae evergreen shrubs surrounding the site.

3. Determine your rose's quadrant location. All roses are assigned a location upon dedication receipt. Click here to see our latest list: as of June 15, 2010. On this list, which is alphabetical by donor last name, you will see the quadrant and row location.

4. Visit the Walnut Hill Rose Garden to see your rose!

We are working diligently to update the dedications as they are received and put signage in place. We appreciate your patience!

Please note: In order to manage all the dedications made in a timely manner, rose dedications will be assigned once every month by the 15th of that month.
