BECOME A BLOOM BUDDY TODAY!!!
Now that the Rose Garden has been planted...we need Garden Volunteers to help with the care and maintenance of the roses throughout the year.
Bloom Buddies (BBs) go through a special volunteer training program to learn the skills they need to care for the different roses in the Walnut Hill Rose Garden. The training program consists of:
1 hour classroom instruction on rose garden maintenance and
4 hours of supervised hands-on training with an experienced gardener
Upon completion of the training program, BBs are identified with a special vest signifying their commitment and the hours they have put into the garden. BBs can come and go and they like, working in the garden, provided they wear their vest to identify themselves as approved garden workers.
All hours spend in the garden beds must be logged online to track volunteer time, and so we can occasionally check your work. Bloom Buddies also assist in teaching other volunteers on the community-wide volunteer days, like the Captains did on our Planting Day.
Learn about our Bloom Buddy program at our next Bloom Buddy Information Session (which fulfills the 1 hour classroom instruction requirement):
TBD
Sessions will be held at McCue Mortgage, One Liberty Square, New Britain, CT 06051 (get directions here)
